Are YOU Ready - ANSWERS

If you have been walking with Christ as a New Creation for at least 6 months you should have no problem answering the questions below. If some questions elude you, no worries -  A link to the answers will be revealed at the end of the survey.

My suggestion is that you partner up and have your partner read the question to you and you respond to the questions audibly or in writing.  If you can't answer the question in your own words you probably need to go over the basics again.

1. Muslims say that the Quran is God's word. Mormons (LDS) say that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. If you say that ONLY the Bible is the Word of God why do you believe that?

2. How did God authenticate the trustworthiness of  the word  spoken by a prophet, teacher, or a pastor? What was the punishment for being a false prophet?

  • ANSWER -The prophecy had to be true 100% and the punishment for misrepresenting God's word was DEATH!
    • A true prophet’s words will be fulfilled (Deuteronomy 18:21–22; Jeremiah 28:8–9).
    • A true prophet’s teachings are consistent with Scripture (2 Peter 1:20–21; Revelation 22:18–19).
    • A true prophet’s teachings will encourage righteous behavior and provide spiritual benefit (Deuteronomy 13:1–4; Jeremiah 23:13–14, 32; Ezekiel 13:17–23; 14:4–8; Lamentations 2:14).
    • A true prophet’s life will reflect a divine call (Isaiah 28:7; Jeremiah 23:10–11, 14; 29:9; Zephaniah 3:4; Matthew 7:15–20).
    • A true prophet will acknowledge Jesus Christ as divine (1 John 4:1–6).

3. Why did God send prophets to Israel so many times?

4. What is sin?

5. Who is Jesus?

  • ANSWER - God, Son of God, Son of Man, Christ, The Lamb, Messiah, the Redeemer.

6. Could Jesus sin?

7. Was it necessary for Jesus to be killed (crucified). Why?

  • ANSWER - God's justice must be satisfied because he a righteous, just and perfect. The penalty had to be paid.

God created earth and man perfect.
When Adam and Eve disobeyed God’s commands, He had to punish them. A judge who pardons law-breakers isn’t a righteous judge. Likewise, overlooking sin would make the holy God unjust. Death is God’s just consequence for sin. “For the wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23). Even good works cannot make up for wrongs against the holy God. Compared to His goodness, “All our righteousness are as filthy rags” (Isaiah 64:6b). Ever since Adam’s sin, every human has been guilty of disobeying God’s righteous laws. “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). Sin is not just big things like murder or blasphemy, but also includes love of money, hatred of enemies, and deceit of tongue and pride. Because of sin, everyone has deserved death – eternal separation from God in hell.

In Romans 4 the apostle Paul makes it very clear that the Old Testament way of salvation was the same as the New Testament way, which is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. To prove this, Paul points us to Abraham, who was saved by faith: “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness” (Romans 4:3).
