Chrislam
In many churches across America pastors are placing Qur'an next to the Bible proclaiming that we worship the same God. The God of Abraham. They also affirm that Jesus is mentioned in the Qur'an over 25 times and that Muslims, Christians and Jews worship the same God.
President George W. Bush, Rick Warren and a multitude of pastors from many denominations are actively promoting 'Chrislam' because “We want to find peace, reconciliation around a scriptural understanding of Jesus”.
There is one small problem with this love fest. Jesus of the Bible is the Son of God, who was crucified and died to pay for the sins of the world. In the Qur'an he is a Prophet but not the Son of God, and that he never died. He never paid for the sins of the world.
Christians believe in and affirm the trinity, but Muslims regard the very mention of a trinity as a great blasphemy. With such divergent views on the essential doctrines, how can Christians and Muslims fellowship together?
