Jesus Does Not Merely Clean Us Up ...
HE CREATES AN ENTIRELY NEW YOU!
According to 2 Corinthians 5:17, “If anyone is in Christ, he is a New Creation! No longer a sinner but a Saint (Ephesians 1:1, Colossians 1:2, Philippians 4:21); the old has gone, the new has come!”
Galatians 2:20 says, “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
If we belong to Christ, we are united to Him and no longer slaves to sin (Romans 6:5-6); we are made alive with Him (Ephesians 2:5); we are conformed to His image (Romans 8:29); we are free from condemnation and walking not according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit (Romans 8:1); and we are part of the body of Christ with other believers (Romans 12:5).
When we become a New Creation we are sealed with the Holy Spirit (2 Corinthians 1:22; 5:5; Ephesians 1:13-14; 4:30). We are Stewards of Gods resources (1 Corinthians 3:9, 1 Corinthians 9:17). Ambassadors (Acts 1:8, 2 Corinthians 5:20) , Soldiers (2 Timothy 2:3, 2 Timothy 4:7) and Ministers of Reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5), Sitting in Heavenly Places (Ephesians 2:5-7). We are joint Heirs with Christ (Romans 8:17), and co-workers with God Himself (1Corinthians 3:9).
When we are in Christ, we are “partakers of the divine nature.” God Himself, in the person of the Holy Spirit, takes up residence in our hearts. We are in Christ and He is in us.
The believer now possesses a new heart (2 Corinthians 5:21, 3:18; Romans 8:29) and has been blessed “with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus” (Ephesians 1:3).
